Givaudan is currently looking to increase its world-class research corps with top talent for its Smell & Taste division in APAC, based out of Shanghai, China.
 
About the Position
 
As a Senior Research Associate at Givaudan, your mission is to:
  • Be a liaison between the Smell & Taste global team and the local Asia Pacific business team, particularly in the areas of biotech and natural discovery and ingredient development;
  • Conduct research in the area of natural complex ingredients using various biotechnological/ biochemical / process reactions aimed at developing novel proprietary ingredients;
  • Build Givaudan’s leadership position in natural flavor ingredient research within the Asia Pacific region;
  • Gather emerging technological development in APAC and manage alliance partnerships in the region.
 
Your specific areas of responsibility will be:
  • Develop natural complex ingredients with local raw materials to drive growth with high business potential;
  • Work closely with production/ pilot plant for the scale-up / production trials of complex ingredients;
  • Technology transfer from global S&T center to local facility / customer or vice-versa;
  • Gather emerging technological development in APAC and manage alliance partnership in the region.
 
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Food Science and/or Biochemistry;
- Understanding of Protein Chemistry, Enzymology, Microbiology, and Food Science;
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese;
- Strong communications skills, adaptability, speed of learning;
- Relevant research or work-life experience is highly qualifying.
